Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

by T. Harv Eker

Eker's thesis is that everyone has a money 'blueprint' set in childhood and that it caps their results. The first half, on identifying that blueprint, is useful self-examination; the second half lists seventeen 'wealth files' contrasting rich and poor thinking in a way that can feel simplistic. The jar system for dividing income is a practical takeaway.

you want nuance on income inequality or investing; the book is about mindset and little else.

Three things you will actually use

  1. Divide income into named jars, including one for play.
  2. Notice the stories you tell about rich people.

Do this first

Write down what you heard about money as a child and how it shows up in your spending now.

Our verdict

A useful mirror and a shallow map; take the diagnosis, verify the prescription.
