The 10X Rule
by Grant Cardone
Cardone's argument that most people underestimate the effort success requires by a factor of ten and should set targets ten times higher and act ten times more. The tone is relentless and salesy, the advice ignores strategy and rest, and the author's own ventures have drawn scrutiny. Useful as a corrective for timid planners; dangerous as a whole philosophy.
Read it if…
you consistently under-commit and need a loud push to act massively.
Skip it if…
you are already overworking; this book will tell you it is not enough.
Three things you will actually use
- Underestimating effort is the common failure.
- Massive action creates new problems; prefer those to the old ones.
- Average is a failing formula.
Do this first
Take whatever you planned to do toward one goal this week and multiply the activity, not the hours, by making ten times the attempts.
Our verdict
Loud, one-sided and occasionally useful.
