The Circle Maker
by Mark Batterson
Batterson on bold prayer, built on the legend of Honi the circle maker: dream big, pray hard, think long. It is energetic and story-driven, with his own church-planting experiences, and it has motivated many Christians toward larger faith; critics note a drift toward prayer as technique.
Read it if…
you are a Christian whose prayers have become small.
Skip it if…
you are not religious or distrust prosperity-adjacent language.
Three things you will actually use
- Pray specifically; vague prayers get vague answers.
- Persistence is part of prayer.
- Dream in decades.
Do this first
Write one specific, bold prayer and pray it daily for forty days.
Our verdict
Energetic and motivating.
