The Power of When

by Michael Breus

A sleep doctor's chronotype system, lion, bear, wolf, dolphin, with recommended times for sleep, coffee, exercise, hard work, creative work and difficult conversations for each. The four types are a simplification of real circadian variation, but the core idea, that timing matters and differs by person, is sound and the schedules are useful starting points.

  2. Most people are bears; schedule accordingly.
  3. Consistency matters more than the perfect time.
