Why it works as a shared text
Forty laws.
One vocabulary.
Every law ends with exercises rather than reflections, and the forty statements at the back give a group something to return to together.
A team that has read this book stops arguing about whether a problem is real and starts arguing about what to do next. That is the whole point of a shared text: it moves the conversation one step further along before anyone opens their mouth.
Align with reality, and it works for you. Ignore it, and it works against you.

One law a week, one exercise a week. Forty weeks of shared language about ownership, focus and appropriate action.
Give it on day one. It says more about how a place operates than a handbook does.
Ten parts map cleanly onto a ten-week structure. THE WORK sections are already the homework.
A book people keep, marked up, on a desk — not a branded object that goes in a drawer.
Written for people doing the work in real conditions, without a single sentence of flattery.
Written by someone who taught in them. Plain language, one assignment at a time, for people rebuilding under real conditions.
Tier three includes a printed insert addressed to your group.
