Giving Custom Audio as a Gift: What to Know Before You Order for Someone Else
2 min read
Most gifts are objects. This one is a voice saying someone’s name and telling them, in detail, that they can do the thing they are working toward. Done well, it is one of the more personal gifts available. Done carelessly, it can land as pressure. Here is the difference.
Who it suits
Someone with a specific thing in front of them: a race, an exam, a new job, a recovery, a first year of sobriety, a big speech. Someone who has told you what they are working on, so that the script is about their goal and not your idea of what their goal should be. Adults only; the service is 18 and over.

Who it does not suit
Anyone you are hoping to change. A script about weight, drinking or ambition, given unasked, is not a gift; it is a message. If you would not say the content to their face warmly, do not put it in their ears.
How the ordering works
You fill in the brief with what you know: their name as they like it, the goal, the moments they find hard, and any phrases they use or would respond to. If you are unsure, the honest move is to tell them and let them fill in the brief themselves; it is still your gift. The script is written for the recipient and comes to you for approval, or to them, as you prefer. They choose the voice from samples if you want them involved, or you choose on their behalf.

What they receive
Private chaptered MP3s, from thirty minutes to ten hours, in their name, that belong to them. Nobody else ever hears it, and it is never reused. A short note from you works better than any packaging.
Timing
Allow for the writing, your approval and production. Shorter programs are quicker; a ten-hour library takes several weeks. Order ahead of the date rather than the week of.
Where to start
The gift page walks through the options. You send a brief, a quote comes back by email, and nothing is charged until you agree. Not therapy or a medical product; a voice on their side, in their name, for the thing they are facing.
