Knowing the material vs. arriving calm

Exam Season: Audio for the Hours Between Study Blocks

|

3 min read

Most exam failures among people who studied are not knowledge failures. They are state failures: the night before spent not sleeping, the first five minutes spent panicking at a question that looked unfamiliar, the mind going blank on material that was solid the day before. The studying was done. The person arrived in the wrong condition.

Separate the two problems

Knowing the material is a studying problem, and nothing in this post helps with it. Arriving calm, sleeping the night before, reading the first question slowly, moving on from the one you cannot do: these are state problems, and they respond to rehearsal. You can hear yourself do them correctly, in your name, dozens of times before the day.

What a script for exams says

For the study period: you sit down at the time you said; you work the block; you stop when it ends. For the night before: the work is done; more now will cost more than it adds; you sleep. For the morning: what you eat, when you leave, what you do in the corridor. For the first five minutes: read the whole paper, start with the one you know, the one you do not know is not a verdict. For the blank moment: breathe, skip, return. Your name throughout, because it keeps the words about you.

When to listen

Not while studying. Between blocks, on the walk, in the evening, as you fall asleep. A chaptered program gives you a short pre-study chapter, a wind-down chapter, and the exam-morning chapter you play on the way in.

Who this is for

Adults taking certifications after work. Students in their final year. Anyone who has failed an exam they knew the material for. It is not tutoring and not a treatment for anxiety; if exam fear is severe, a professional is the right first step. Custom Audio is for adults, 18 and over.
