One idea per card. The oldest knowledge system still beats most apps.
The problem it solves
Notes in apps pile up unread. Ideas you cannot physically shuffle never get combined into anything new.
What it is
Ruled or blank 3 by 5 cards in bulk, plus a box with dividers. Used for flashcards, a Zettelkasten, daily priorities or outlining a book on a table.
Who it is for
Students, writers, planners and anyone who learns by handling ideas rather than scrolling them.
How to use it so it sticks
Carry five blank cards. Write one idea, task or fact per card. File them each evening under a heading. Once a week, lay a stack out and look for connections.
Who should skip it
If you never revisit notes, no system will help; start with a single notebook.
Verdict
Cheap, flexible and endlessly reusable. Underrated by people who have only tried apps.
